Tungsten carbide powder general production method

1. Tungsten trioxide WO3 hydrogenated reduction, tungsten powder (average particle size 3 ~ 5μm). Then with tungsten powder and carbon black as raw materials, the average particle size of 3 ~ 5μm tungsten powder and other substances of the amount of carbon black with a ball mill dry mix, fully mixed, pressure molding into the graphite disk, and then in the graphite resistance furnace or induction furnace heating to 1400 ~ 1700℃, the best control at 1550 ~ 1650℃. In the hydrogen stream, W2C is initially generated and continues to react at high temperatures to produce tungsten carbide. Or first tungsten hacarbonyl [W(CO)6] in 650 ~ 1000℃, CO atmosphere thermal decomposition to produce tungsten powder, and then react with carbon monoxide at 1150℃ to obtain tungsten carbide, the temperature is higher than the temperature can produce W2C.

2. Gas phase decomposition method. This is tungsten W(CO)6 by thermal decomposition to produce tungsten powder. The method of preparing tungsten carbide by carburizing carbon monoxide gas. The characteristic of this method is that it does not need the high temperature of method 1, but can easily prepare tungsten carbide with a relatively simple reaction device at low temperature (1150℃).
