1. Titanium Alloy Structural Components:
Titanium alloys are primarily used in the aerospace industry for manufacturing aircraft engines and fuselages. Generally, for aircraft with Mach numbers less than 2, a portion of titanium and its alloys are used in the engines, while the fuselage is typically made of aluminum alloy. For aircraft with Mach numbers equal to 2, the amount of titanium used in the engine increases, and parts of the fuselage also require titanium for making important load-bearing components. 2. Aircraft Landing Gear:
The main load-bearing components of landing gear are manufactured using large integral forgings. Materials often used include low-alloy steel, titanium, or aluminum alloys. For example, the main strut outer tube of the Boeing 787 landing gear is made of 300M steel forging, and the cushion strut piston rod is made of a titanium alloy integral forging. This integral structure replaces welded structures and effectively improves the lifespan. In terms of material performance, 300M steel has high tensile strength, reaching 1860 MPa, and it also has high transverse plasticity, fracture toughness, and fatigue resistance, making it the dominant material for large aircraft landing gears. Titanium alloys are widely used in main load-bearing components of landing gears due to their light weight and high strength.

3. Fan Casing:
The main material of the fan casing is titanium alloy, characterized by high hardness, high strength, corrosion resistance, and the difficulty of processing due to its hard-to-machine properties. Thus, tool wear is severe, and work hardening phenomenon is significant, making cutting challenging. Fan casings are mostly machined by turning, and the use of special-shaped tools and high-pressure coolant tools is an effective way to improve machining efficiency.
