Superalloy processing solutions
High-temperature alloys are engineering materials used under conditions of around 1000°C and are widely used in aerospace, aviation, and various heat treatment equipment. Due to the presence of many high-melting-point alloy elements such as Fe, Ti, Cr, Ni, V, W, Mo, etc., in high-temperature alloys, these alloy elements, along with other alloying elements, form high-purity, dense austenitic alloys. Some elements also form compounds with non-metallic elements such as C, B, N, etc., which have high hardness, low density, and high melting point, making their machinability very poor. Its relative machinability is only 5-20% of that of 45# steel.

Cutting characteristics:
a. Large cutting force: 2-3 times that of cutting 45# steel.
b. High cutting temperature: about 50% higher than cutting 45# steel.
c. Severe work hardening: The hardness of the machined surface and the already machined surface is 50-100% higher than that of the matrix when cutting it.
d. Tool wear is easy: It is prone to bonding, diffusion, oxidation, and groove wear during cutting.

Rheniumet has developed super hard alloy cutting tools for such products by adding precious metals and refining the grain structure of hard alloy cutting tool materials, enhancing the tool's red hardness and wear resistance, effectively improving tool life and machining efficiency.
